share your dots with others by generating a link, tagging teammates, or assigning permissions. You can give users view-only access or collab access to allow them to edit and interact with your dot. From the same sharing panel, you can also adjust Share Permissions, defining who can access your dot and what theyโre allowed to do.
๐ How to Share a Dot
1. ๐ค Open the Share Panel
- Open the dot you want to share.
- Click the Share icon.
2. ๐ Share via Link
In the sharing panel, click one of these options:
- ๐ Copy Link โ copies the link to your clipboard.
- ๐ Share Link โ opens system-level share options.
Send the link to anyone who needs access.
3. ๐ฅ Tag Teammates and Assign Permissions
- In the โInviteโ section, start typing the name of someone in your workspace.
- Choose the permission level:
View โ the person can only see the dot.
Collab โ the person can edit or modify the dot.
- Click Invite to confirm.
๐ก๏ธ Share Permissions
Share Permissions let you control who can access your dot, how widely itโs shared, and what others are allowed to do. These settings appear inside the sharing panel, making it easy to manage in one place.
๐ How to Configure Share Permissions
- Click the Share button on your dot.
- Open the Share Permissions section (often labeled โCan View?โ or similar).
- Choose who can access your dot under Who Can Access:
- Anyone
- Anyone in your domain
- Only invited people
- Define what they can do under What Can They Do?:
- View
- Collab
- Optional: open Advanced Settings, where you can enable or disable:
- Discoverable via search
- Viewers can copy, share, and download from this file
- Close the panel to save your preferences.
๐ก Tips
- Use View mode when you want to protect your dot from accidental edits.
- Use Collab mode for teamwork, brainstorming, corrections, or async reviews.
- Use โOnly invited peopleโ for restricted or confidential dots.
